Forever. I had a different account before you needed to link to a Facebook or Google+ or whatever account, before burners, but I had the same avatar. That was way back in the day.

I know, that’s why I put “fake” in quotes. I doubt anyone who wasn’t starred at the time would have bothered to add one. I just thought it was funny to see all the ‘old-timers’ trying to retain their perceived former social status after the playing field was leveled. It’s too bad that we’re back to the hierarchical commenting system with the greyed/ungreyed commenters.

This has been my internet face since, oh 1995 or so. Was running a mod of mIRC (I think could have been a different client) that had avatars. Added this guy as my 3rd or 4th on that thing and have used it exclusively since. So like 20 plus years. I suppose my avatar can smoke and is nearing drinking age.

Only once, for a day or so when everyone changed their names/avatars for April fools a few years ago. I think had Clarkson or May that as the avatar and screenname that day. Other than that it’s been this 3.0CS from a BaT feature for 4+ years now.
